This month’s exhibition invites guests to explore Phuket through the expressive lens of local artist Kanchana Sutthikanchanakul, known as Yor Ying. Her latest collection, Phuket Seascapes, captures the island’s coastal charm using textured oil techniques and bold color compositions.
Each painting reflects familiar southern landmarks reimagined through vibrant tones and layered brushwork, offering a visual journey through the region’s serene natural beauty.

“Yanui Beach”

Tucked between Windmill Viewpoint and Promthep Cape, Yanui Beach is a small and quiet cove perfect for kayaking, paddleboarding, and snorkeling. It has a relaxed charm with dramatic rock formations and emerald waters.

The iconic Karon Viewpoint, where Kata Noi, Kata, and Karon bays unfold below a vivid Phuket sunset.

Often called Karon Viewpoint, this scenic spot offers panoramic views of three beaches: Kata Noi, Kata Yai, and Karon. It’s one of Phuket’s most iconic viewpoints, especially at sunset when the hills glow golden and the bays shine in soft gradients.

Located in the south of Phuket, Rawai is known for its laid-back, local vibe and longtail boats that rest onshore during low tide. It’s not a swimming beach but rather a working beach—home to sea gypsies, fresh seafood markets, and a stunning horizon of nearby islands.

About the Artist
Kanchana Sutthikanchanakul, also known as Yor Ying, is a Phuket-born artist whose work captures the rhythm and emotional landscape of southern Thailand. Through contemporary impressionist techniques and the textured use of palette knives and oil on canvas, she transforms familiar coastal scenes into vivid expressions of place and memory. Her recent exhibitions include “GUANYIN PUSA” at Limelight Avenue Phuket and “Look My Art – See My Mind” at Vanich Legacy Art Gallery & Museum. The Phuket Seascapes collection, currently on display at Sole Mio, offers a deeply personal view of island life—one that celebrates the visual poetry found in everyday coastal moments.
