Napaphat Niamkhunthod (Noi) is a Thai artist whose life and work are deeply connected to the Andaman Sea. Originally from central Thailand, she moved to Phuket and established her first studio on Bang Tao Bay, where the rhythms of the ocean became her constant inspiration.

Featured Artworks

• Koh Yao Yai – A horizon where boats rest gently on still waters, this work reflects the slower rhythm of island life. It speaks to simplicity, balance, and the harmony between people and nature. (Oil on canvas | Size: 60 × 60 cm )

About the Artist

Working primarily in oil on canvas, Napaphat creates textured seascapes that capture the shifting light, moods, and mystery of the sea. She explains that she does not paint the sea itself, but the experience of the sea: “By painting the sea, and often the same sea over and over again, I paint the experience and not the thing. It’s always fresh and new.”

Her canvases are marked by layered brushstrokes and luminous tones that mirror the ever-changing tides, skies, and weather of Phuket. Through this process, she seeks a balance between memory, imagination, and reality—inviting viewers to feel not just what they see, but the deeper emotional connection that the sea evokes.
